Festival of Flowers

Matisse has captured the view from his room at the Hôtel de la Meditérranée in Nice in crisp warm colors of the Mediterranean. The abstracted figures sitting on the balcony are ‘Matisse’s daughter, Marguerite, and his model, Henriette, poised to toss their flowers to the participants in the parade below.’
