Anemones and Chinese Vase,
Matisse has placed a white table in the center of a bright and boldly colored interior. Atop this table is a simple blue-and-white vase filled with anemones, Matisse’s favorite flower. Black slashes center the tufted petals of the flowers and lead the eye out from the center of the room. The colors and swaths of color fill the room with vibrant energy and light.
